Once there was a young, poor farmer named Remy. Remy worked hard to plow the rows, plant the seeds and waited for his crops to grow. Anxious from waiting, Remy wanted to help them grow faster. Rem went out into the field and when Remy returned home, he was exhausted! His parents inquired “Remy, why are you so tired?” and he replied, “I was helping the plants grow, by pulling up on the shoots!”. The parents looked out onto the field and saw the roots for each plant was exposed and most were lying on their sides. By this time most had begun to wither and would soon die.
Some people will assert that there is nothing that can be done to help crops grow and abandon the effort. Others will waste effort pulling at the stalks hoping to help them along. The wisest, work the field by weeding, watering and allowing the plants to grow in their own time.
